A cocktail of Absurdist Cabaret: part Buenos Aires Dada, part Hallucinogenic Comic Surrealism with a drop (or two) of Mexican Mezcal, stirred and shaken by the Argentinean Ring Master, Hernan Palacio. Thursday 21 & 28 of November 9:30 pm @ The Butterfly Club, 204 Bank St, South Melbourne

Enter the Mezcal-soaked dream landscape of DREAMS OF THE CHICKEN, devised by Latin America's bastard-son-of-Dada Hernan Palacio.
With a nod to Alfred Jarry (Pere Ubu), Antonin Artaud (Theatre of Cruelty), Carlos Castaneda (The Teachings of Don Juan), Julio Cortazar (Hopscotch) and poet Pablo Neruda, Palacio brings to life the dreamy world of the chicken.
Swimming in magic and ritual, the Da-Da-mented Argentinean will hypnotise a live chicken and with the help of a pataphysical contraption, a bottle of Mezcal, Leandro's musical concoptions, Eleonor & Jacky's charm, the audience and other devices. You will see and feel the dreams of the chicken.
Every night will be a one-of-a-kind experience in this truly hallucinogenic dream-world.

What is pataphysics? what does it have to do with chickens?
Based on the work of Alfred Jarry, pataphysics is the search for imaginary solutions to practical problems. Dream of the Chicken roosts in the theatre of the absurd, Dada, Surrealism and symbolism, with a distinctly Latin American spin.

"A national treasure, this man should be funded"
